The Open Book of Social Innovation

2010, The Young Foundation/Nesta
Robin Murray, Julie Caulier-Grice, Geoff Mulgan

This survey aimed to document the many ways people  were creating new and more effective answers to the biggest challenges of the times.  It provided a theoretical overview on the roles of  different sectors – the public and private sectors, civil society and the household – in the overlapping fields of the social economy, social entrepreneurship and social enterprise. It drew on inputs from hundreds of organisations to document the many methods currently being used around the world from housing to the arts, education and health to democracy.  It has been very widely read and translated into many languages.
